Concerned residents of Delray, Bounce has been making some exaggerated claims and wild promises in trying to secure favors from local elected officials and pacify concerned neighbors.  Well, that's not much a surprise coming from and out-of-state nightclub that's seeking to break the rules before their doors are even open. What's more surprising perhaps, is that several of our Commissioners have been disseminating this Bounce propaganda in their email replies to many concerned Delray residents.  They seem to forget that these are the same residents who elected them ....   The  Palm Trail Homeowners Association  urges you to vote  NO on the Bounce Sporting Club  conditional use application to stay open until 2:00 am. The noise and disruption to Palm Trail and other nearby neighborhoods is a harm that makes this conditional use incompatible with the surrounding neighborhoods. The Bounce space in the Atlantic Crossing development agreement was approved as a restaurant, and was not expected to in effect extend the Entertainment District. Bounce is claiming to be a restaurant, but its after midnight aspects are clearly those of a nightclub. The Delray Beach City Commission has worked with the Palm Trail and Historic Marina District neighborhoods to mitigate any negative impacts from the Atlantic Crossing project on the neighborhoods to ensure neighborhood compatibility.   Bounce Sporting Club  is an out of town restaurant/nightclub chain that is planning to open a new club in the new Atlantic Crossing project, at the NE corner of Atlantic Ave and NE 7th Ave - where the current zoning requires restaurants and bars to close by midnight.   The club is seeking a "conditional use" permit to remain open until 2:00 am, seven days per week.  Delray already has a large and well-defined Entertainment District that stretches West on Atlantic Avenue, from the Colony Hotel towards Swinton Avenue where restaurants and bars are allowed to stay open until 2:00 am.  This is the area of downtown where many of our restaurants, bars and clubs - such as Johnny Brown’s, Honey, Throw Social, Tin Roof and others are concentrated.  Bounce is located outside these boundaries.   Neighbors and residents have voiced valid concerns about having a late night club in our backyard.  In addition to noise and late night disturbances, there’s a con...
